Basic Pre-License For individuals seeking their NYS Pistol Permit
Course Fee: $50.00
The Basic Pre-License course is for the individual who is seeking their NYS Pistol Permit. Topics covered are firearms safety and the NRA Fundamentals of Pistol Shooting. We review the most common types of handguns (revolvers & semi-automatic) and explore the various action types of each category of handgun. Also covered are ammunition components and firing sequence, firing the first shots as well as care and storage of handguns. We also review parts of the NYS Penal law as it applies to the ownership and possession of firearms. The course duration is 4 hours and does not involve live fire due to NYS law. The cost of this course is $50.

North Troy Stag Rod & Gun Club: will hold evaluation sessions after all their regular pre license pistol classes. Please go to northtroystag.org to sign up for the post-evaluation class. There are 2 sessions set up for 6 individuals each.

As a direct result of the RCSD decision to only approve On-Premis Only permits the Nassau Sportsmen's Club& Brunswick has cancelled all of its remaining 2022 pistol courses.
