Troy Pistol League
The TPL conducts competitive Bullseye shooting for its members weekly from September to April each year, and participates in the Adirondack Foothills Pistol League. The TPL hosts, on an annual basis, the NRA Sectional Match and the NYS Indoor Conventional Championship Match, which draws highly experienced shooters from across the state. Also, qualified TPL members administer basic and advanced firearms training to all eligible novice and veteran shooters.
During 2014, the TPL is developing a new program for prospective new members. The program will focus on the aspects of the Gallery Course of fire which TPL members participate in on Tuesday evenings. On Thursdays, new and potential TPL members will take part in non-competitive, informal relays designed to familiarize them with range commands and firing at targets during slow, timed and rapid fire exercises. Discussion sessions will be held between relays affording an opportunity for participants to ask questions in order to gain a better understanding and appreciation of Bullseye shooting and attendant safety rules.
Also, under consideration is the formation of a .22 rifle travel league which may be of interest to TPL members, as well as members of other shooting organizations.
The TPL is a proud supporter of the National Rifle Association and the New York State Rifle and Pistol Association.
